Lets talk about our Northwest Breakfast, there's a lot of breakfast teas out there whether it be in English, Irish or even Scottish breakfast and we wanted to make a blend that tasted just like the great Northwest. To do this we took three different black teas: a Chinese Flowery Orange Pekoe, an Assam and a Ceylon Black tea. Then we added a secret ingredient: the Eastern White pine needles. These give this cup more vitamin c than a cup of orange juice.
To make a cup, we'll take one teaspoon of Northwest Breakfast tea per eight ounces of water, one teabag will suffice as well. Next we will pour 212 degree water (water to a boil) over our tea leaves. Then set a timer for 5 minutes. Once our timer's gone off we will strain this over a hand mesh strainer. if you have a tea ball or a tea bag now would be the time to remove them.
You can really smell and taste the sweetness of the pine. This added with the Black teas (the Assam, Ceylon and Black Chinese tea) it really all comes together to taste like the Northwest. As always our Northwest Breakfast is available in tea bags and in loose leaf.
Cheers,
